New Delhi, 2 December 2023: Former Union Minister Vijay Goel along with the activists of ‘Lok Abhiyan’ held a referendum on the arrest of Kejriwal in the liquor scam today at Rajiv Chowk Metro Station Gate No. 6 in which more than 10,000 people participated. In this referendum, people were asked whether Kejriwal should resign if he is arrested in the liquor scam. 83% people said that Kejriwal should resign, whereas 17% opined differently.

Goel told that people were given a slip on which they had to mark ‘YES’ or ‘NO’ on resignation and put it in the box kept there. Goel said that this referendum was held through secret ballot.

Goel said that the Delhi Government minister and Aam Aadmi Party leader Gopal Rai is asking people orally whether Kejriwal should resign or not, the result of which is already decided. Goel said that this survey of Aam Aadmi Party is nothing but a drama as they are already determined that Kejriwal would run the government from jail.

Goel said that while the results of Aam Aadmi Party’s referendum would come after 20 days, our activists will collect opinion from 20,000 people at different places and will report the results every day. Goel said that slips have already been given to people in all 14 districts, on which referendum will be conducted.

Goel also informed that three boards were put up at Rajiv Chowk Metro Station Gate No. 6. In one of the boards, Kejriwal has been shown holding a Cabinet meeting in Tihar Jail and on the other Kejriwal has been shown submitting his resignation after being arrested in the liquor scam to Lieutenant Governor Vinay Kumar Saxena. In the third board, along with a bottle of liquor, it is shown that arguments are being given in favor of Kejriwal that he has been falsely implicated, whereas the Opposition parties are claiming if it is really so then why is the court not granting bail to Manish Sisodia and Satyendra Jain?

Goel said that why did Kejriwal not conduct the referendum before the resignation of Manish Sisodia and Satyendra Jain?

Goel accused the Aam Aadmi Party that when they opened liquor shops in every nook and corner of Delhi, did they conduct a referendum among the public? Instead, they intoxicated the youth of Delhi by giving them one bottle for free.

Now, Aam Aadmi Party is saying that the people of Delhi had voted in the name of Kejriwal, but they forgot that at that time Kejriwal’s image was not of a corrupt leader and people were unaware of impending liquor and water scams. Goel said that once even Lalu Prasad Yadav was close confidant of JP and led anti-Emergency agitations, but later on he indulged in corruption and had to resign after being arrested. Then why Kejriwal who always pretended that he might resign even on slightest allegation, this time needs a referendum?

Goel said that on the one hand Kejriwal pretends that he does not have any greed for power and may resign anytime, on the other hand the same Kejriwal does not hesitate to collaborate with the Congress and other parties whom he once accused of massive corruption.

Goel said that the truth is that Kejriwal does not have confidence in anyone else in his party and thinks that if someone else becomes the Chief Minister after his resignation, chances are that he may not vacate the post in future even after his acquittal.
