The Indian Revenue Open Shooting Championship at Dr. Karni Singh Shooting Range in Delhi has successfully concluded. CBIC Member Dr. John Joseph and noted shooter Padmashri Jaspal Rana honored the medal winners. Tamil Superstar actor Ajith Kumar also participated in this competition. All the medal winners were honoured in a prize distribution ceremony held at Don Bosco School.
Arjun Chandra Maharishi, Organizing Secretary of IROSC and GST Superintendent, said that in this competition around 700 shooters from across the country participated in one hundred and seventy categories of seven events. The youngest shooter was nine years old, while a woman at the age of 72 was the oldest contestant.
CS Mishra, Joint Secretary of IROSC and Additional Commissioner of GST Department said that the officials of Revenue Department and the shooters from all over the country have participated in this competition with great enthusiasm, we will organize this competition in a better way next year.
Farid Ali has won the silver medal in the 25m standard pistol event and his student Naaz Khan has won a bronze medal in the 10meter pistol.
GST Superintendent Neeti Sharma won a total of six medals including four gold medals. Additional District Judge Khaliq-UzZaman of UP won the gold medal in the 25 meter pistol. Anupam Kamal of Delhi won the gold medal of both 10m pistol and 50m pistol event. Indian Rifle Team coach Deepak Kumar Dubey won a bronze medal in the 50m rifle prone event, while Harkishan and Ankur Sirohi won the gold and silver muscle of the event. In the 25m Sport Pistol Woman event, Pushpanjali Rana won the gold and Koorakula Divya won the silver medal. Sameer, Aditya Verma and Vansh Bhardwaj won Gold Silver and Bronze Medals in the Sport Pistol Junior Men’s event.
