Bharat Chauhan, The Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of
India (ASSOCHAM),has recognized ÖSEL Technology New Delhi, the Union Minister for MSME (Micro Small and
Medium Enterprises), Mr. Nitin Gadkari, handed the award to Mr. Mukesh Sinha, director
Innovative Infratech Solutions (P) Ltd. (IISPL), which is the parent company of ÖSEL.
Importance of the award
This is the 7 th edition of the award ceremony, titled, ASSOCHAM’s MSMEs Excellence Awards
& Summit that has 9 categories, of which, ‘Start-Up of the Year’ is an important one.
ASSOCHAM has instituted this award to recognize the vital contribution of Start-Ups in
boosting economic growth in the country. It recognizes MSMEs as the second largest
employment generating segment in India that require low investments, have flexibility in
operations and are capable of developing appropriate indigenous technologies.
Why ÖSEL won this recognition
ÖSEL was established just six months ago by Innovative Infratech Solutions (P) Ltd. (IISPL),
for manufacturing LED display solutions after identifying a major supply gap in this industry
in India. This is a very promising market, which is almost entirely dependent on costly and
complex imports, mainly from China. It is critical for indigenous manufacturing to begin
substituting such complete dependence on imports and overcome the supply constraints.
ÖSEL is the first company that is truly fulfilling this potential that aims to reduce the
country’s import dependence in this critical segment.
At less than 5% of the out of home (OOH) display market in India, the digital OOH or DOOH
market was worth USD 328 million in 2016 and is expected to grow at a CAGR of 18.60% in
value terms to reach $ 906.65 million by the end of 2022.
Encouraging indigenous manufacturing capacity

ÖSEL’s indigenous production capacity will positively impact self-reliance initiatives of the
government such as, ‘Make in India’ and help achieve import substitution that will lead to
savings of precious foreign exchange. As a research-driven enterprise offering end-to-end
digital signage solutions, ÖSEL leverages its strengths in R&D, designing, software
development and servicing support to its customers. This is vital for any kind of
manufacturing capacity to win the confidence of customers with good quality and prices.
The best alternative to PVC flex signage
Static polyvinyl chloride (PVC) flex signage currently accounts for over 95% of the out of
home (OOH) media market in India. It is the worst kind of single use plastic (SUP) as it
contains very high levels of dioxin, which is very harmful for humans and other life forms.
ÖSEL’s endeavour to build indigenous capacity for production of digital LED display solutions
is the best approach toward limiting and eventually eliminating use of PVC flex in future.
Currently, over 2 billion square feet of PVC flex is used every month in India and almost all of
it is disposed of most unhygienically.
