SIKH DAUGHTER OF GRANTHI SINGH IN PAKISTAN FORCED TO CONVERT INTO ISLAM IMRAN KHAN SHOULD IMMEDIATELY TAKE STEPS TO ENSURE SECURITY OF MINORITIES : SIRSA

Bharat Chauhan New Delhi, In an unfortunate incident in Sri Nankana Sahin in Pakistan a 18 year girl Jagjit Kaur was forced to change her religion and embrace Islam. The girl is daughter of granthi Bhagwan Singh of Gurudwar Sri Tambu Sahib.
There is widespread anger in the community throughout the world and strong reactions are coming in from Sikh organizations and Institutions.
The Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee (DSGMC) President Mr. Manjinder Singh Sirsa reacting on the development said that Sikh Guru Sahiban had always opposed forced conversions and Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib ji even sacrificed his life for stopping it.
He said that Sikhs are a minority in Pakistan where there incident occurring like forcing them to convert and adopt Islam. He said that we strongly condemn this incident and urge Pakistan PM Imran Khan through Pakistan High Commission that he should immediately act against the culprits of the fresh incident and ensure security of the minorities. He said that though the issue may be an issue between both the countries including India and Pakistan but as this is a case of Sikhims. He said that India is center of Sikhism and it is responsibility of Indian Government to take up this matter with Pakistan and take immediate steps to ensure safety of Sikhs in that country.
Mr Sirsa said that the DSGMC being a representative body of the Sikhs has always worked to ensure safety of Sikhs worldwide and will continue to perform its duty.
