Bharat Chauhan ,Hansraj college University of Delhi jointly with Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of
Medicine, USA successfully organized 1st International Conference on Integrative
Chemistry, Biology & Translational Medicine (ICBTM-2019) held from February 25-26,
2019 at Conference Centre, University of Delhi, Delhi, India. The two-day event featured
world-renowned scientists from India and around the world as well as short talks from
outstanding young research scholars. The main objective of the conference was to encourage
the cross-disciplinary collaboration by creating an environment where group of scientist and
academia from diverse discipline can exchange their ideas related to their field of subject
mainly by focusing on the key issues from each respective speciality.
The conference was inaugurated by Chief Guest Dr. A.K. Singh, Director General Life
Sciences, DRDO, Govt. of India, Chairperson(s) Dr. Rama, Principal, Hansraj College and
Prof. Ravi Durvasula from Loyola University (USA) and the Convenor(s) Dr. Brijesh Rathi
from Hansraj College (DU) and Dr. Prakasha Kempaiah from Loyola University (USA).
The Convenor Dr. Brijesh Rathi, Assistant Professor of Chemistry at Hansraj College,
University of Delhi and Affiliate -Assistant Professor at University of Loyola, Chicago, USA,
initiated the prompt research collaborations with M.I.T., Harvard University, University of
Loyola, California University and University of Florida, USA and University of Debrecen,
Hungary. While his stay at M.I.T. USA, he propagated the collaboration with Prof. Ravi
Durvasula and Dr. Prakasha Kempaiah from Loyola University (USA). Several high impact
factor research publications have appeared within this framework of collaborations. Recently
Dr. Rathi has filed one US-Patent jointly with Loyola University (USA).
Dr. Rama, Principal, Hansraj College and Prof. Ravi Durvasula, Chair, Loyola University
Chicago Stritch School of Medicine, USA proudly announced the opening of the Centre for
Global Health – a study site of Department of Medicine, University of Loyola (USA) in the
premises of Hansraj college, University of Delhi. Both the dignitaries, appointed Dr. Brijesh
Rathi, as the coordinator of the Centre for Global Heath. Under his leadership the Centre for
Global Heath will offer ample of opportunities for young researchers including undergraduate
and postgraduate students from University of Delhi.
The establishment of this prestigious Centre for Global Health at Hansraj College makes this
college the role model for other Delhi University Colleges to initiate cutting edge Research
activities at college level. This would help to diminish the boundaries limited to classical
teaching and to inculcate research activities globally.
