An ‘Entrepreneurship and Skill Development Diwali Exhibition cum Sale’ was organised by the Department of Education at Lady Irwin College on November 2nd, 2018.

This event is organised every year before Diwali and this year the theme was ‘Entrepreneurship and Skill Development ‘. The first and second year students learnt to prepare products that were biodegradable and not harmful to the environment and also was low cost.

The programme started with the ribbon cutting and lamp lighting by the Director of the College Dr Anupa Siddhu.

About 230 students of the BEd programme prepared useful articles from low cost or no cost Eco friendly material. The products developed comprised Potli bags, table runners, paper and cloth bags, Shagun envelopes, cushion covers, sling bags, folders, saw dust rangoli colours and many more such items. There was Mehandi stalls too by these future teachers.

There were food stalls where students prepared and sold snacks such as dahi Bhalla, papri chaat, Chana chaat, kulcha Chana, bhelpuri, Dhokla, Brownee, fruit punch, Jaljeera, lemonade etc at very nominal rates.

Three games were also organised in which students, parents, faculty and staff and many guests to the college participated with enthusiasm
