Delhi’s shooters shine in Bhopal, Arpit Goel sets new record

Bharat Chauhan, Arpit Goel of Delhi won the gold medal in the rapid fire pistol event in the 63rd National Shooting Championship in Bhopal. Along with this, Farid Ali, Arpit Goel and Prashant Lakra also clinched the bronze medal for Delhi in the Rapid Fire Pistol Team event.

Arpit Goel broke his own national record with a score of 578 in the Rapid Fire Pistol Civilian event. Last year Arpit scored 570 in the 62nd National Shooting Competition in Kerala.

In the Rapid Fire Pistol Civilian Team event, the team of Farid Ali, Arpit Goel and Prashant Lakra won bronze medal scoring a total of 1629. The Uttarakhand team won the gold medal with 1647 points, while the Haryana team won the silver medal at 1645.

11 year old Prarthna Khanna was the youngest shooter from Delhi, who achieved the minimum qualification score at the national shooting championship and became “renowned shot”.
